On Monday, September 12th, I had a regular doctors appointment. We did not do a formal ultrasound as later in the week, I would be meeting with a specialist. But we did an old school, informal ultrasound just so the doctor could see the babies and their heartbeats. They were moving and beating those little heart of theirs! Everything else with my pregnancy was progressing great and healthy. Next appointment will be in 4 weeks!
Today, September 14th, I had an appointment with a perinatologist, which does an extensive ultrasound of measuring both babies and practically EVERY part of them. She confirmed the sex of the babies to be BOYS and she said that for a twin pregnancy everything is best case scenario. Perfect size, with own placentas and thick healthy membrane between them. Right now at 19 weeks, they are measuring about 11 ounces. Which sounds small, but perfect for where I am. It is crazy to think that they will gain (hopefully) 5-6 pounds in the next 15-18 weeks!! :-)
We are pretty sure we have decided on names . . . but will save that for the next post. Just to add a little suspense!!
Here is a belly picture of me at 19 weeks!
